Product Description
PerTronix Ignitor 1181 fits the following models with mechanical advance at top of shaft. Fits single point and dual point Delco distributors:
Cadillac 8-Cylinder, excluding 215cid & 300cid engines 1956-1974
Oldsmobile 8-Cylinder 1948-1990
The Ignitor has been proven for over fifteen years in race cars, off-road vehicles, national rental fleets, parcel delivery services and by backyard mechanics. The Ignitor is the ideal choice for collector car restoration because it fits entirely under the distributor cap for a neat, clean look. The Ignitor is made in the U.S.A. and is backed by a 30 month factory warranty.
Available in Original Ignitor as well as Ignitor II & Ignitor III. Select system you desire from the drop-down menu. 1181, 91181, 71181
The Ignitor II has many of the same great features that the Ignitor has, but it's smarter. Ignitor II units sense the coil current level and use a powerful micro controller to adjust the dwell. Variable dwell helps to maintain peak energy throughout the entire RPM range. Ignitor II systems develop up to 4 times more energy between 3000 and 5000 RPM than standard ignition systems. Ignitor II applications cannot be used with solid core ignition wires.
Ignition box performance without the box. The Ignitor III is the most advanced points replacement kit yet. It is lterally an ignition box inside your distributor. It features multiple sparks throughout the entire RPM range and a high resolution REV limiter accurate to +/- 50 RPM which is set by the user. The Ignitor III module generates 5 times more spark than points. This of course means more spark energy creating more horsepower and better mileage. Illustration for reference purposes only.
